Don't be afraid to reach out to people and ask silly questions or want to know more about their role etc. People are always willing to help and therefore don't be shy to ask for it. Having a strong network will not only help in terms of understanding the wider business and can provide you with people to rely on when you need support; but it will also open up new opportunities that may not have been possible. Also be clear on what kind of roles you enjoy (make take time to figure out) - but understand what gets you out of bed in the morning and then look for roles that have these aspects as part of them. And definitely don't expect to have a lot of the requirements on job descriptions - do not let this put you off applying. After all, if you had all the list, arguably you shouldn't be applying! The point is to show your transferable skills to the role and willingness to learn, and you should then have opportunities in the role to develop particular skills.

What do you like about your job and the company?
My team are at the heart of our operations and we get exposure across the whole business to deliver innovation and change with a variety of stakeholders. The best part of the role is all of our efforts become visible with the end product - e.g. on shelves in customer stores, or through tangible process improvements etc. which we can see the realized business benefits from. Everyday is different and challenging which means we are always busy but that's the fun part of working in a high performance team!
Greatest achievements
My team won the ICON award for Team of the Year which was a really rewarding moment for all the innovation and change we delivered in 2021, particularly due to the external environment we were operating in (Covid-19) and how busy we were as a team. It was great to celebrate the success together and pause to reflect on what we delivered as a team - and spurs the motivation for all the hard days in the office!

I joined the company without too much expectation and not ambitious. However my skill sets have been recognised, I have been supported and encouraged to share my achievements for best practice and to help others. I feel valued and engaged with both my colleagues and managers and enjoy the interaction with people of diversity of age, social and wide ranging backgrounds. It's all about collaboration and working together and any competition is for fun but with rewards.

Lots of opportunities will present to work with different people or to volunteer to get involved in different areas of the business. Always volunteer to do something new - it’s great to have variety but it also gives great insight into how you could do your own job even better.

Everyone deserves to feel seen, heard, and valued — not just once they’re in the role, but throughout the hiring journey. Creating a truly inclusive workplace starts at the first touchpoint — the candidate experience matters more than ever. Diversity doesn’t end at hiring — it’s about building cultures where people from all backgrounds can thrive. Representation opens doors, but inclusion keeps people in the room. Treat every candidate like a future colleague — because they might just be. The best talent won’t always follow a traditional path — be ready to see potential, not just paper. Hiring isn’t just about filling roles — it’s about shaping culture.
