Dont be afraid to ask questions, its such a big (but exciting) move when looking to join a new company. We all use different terminology, and interpretations. Take the opportunity to ask as many questions to clarify your understanding of the role, what you need to deliver, but what will it also deliver for you! An employee that enjoys and feels satisfied that they are growing in the role, will be a happily and more productive individual. There is always someone available to answer questions, don't be afraid to ask!

What do you like about your job and the company?

As part of the Group Commercial Development team, we're all about digging into a variety of metrics that matter—uncovering the "so what?" behind the numbers to understand how they impact our categories, customers, and consumers across both our European and APS markets. Our insights play a key role in helping the Leadership Team shape future strategies and identify immediate opportunities or risks—making the work both impactful and genuinely exciting to be a part of! Leading projects with a wide range of stakeholders—from colleagues across different markets and departments to teams at The Coca-Cola Company and Monster Energy—gives us the chance to bring together diverse perspectives and expertise, making collaboration both dynamic and rewarding.

Greatest achievements

Whilst on secondment with The Coca-Cola company I was responsible for leading the commercial strategies and annual plans for Away from Home customers. Massive piece of work, but honoured to be asked to lead it and loved the challenge! Second one would be retaining the Nando's business in GB, whilst driving additional profit and delivering a 5 year joint category plan with them. Whilst also supporting my team with key global impacted negotiations.

Never be afraid to ask a question, no matter how silly it may be. Someone may want to know the answer as well. This goes part-in-parcel with listening, it is easy to hear someone but to listen and absorb the information and if you don’t understand then ask them to explain more. People will respect you more if you are engaging with them and ask for more information if you don’t understand.

Everyone deserves to feel seen, heard, and valued — not just once they’re in the role, but throughout the hiring journey. Creating a truly inclusive workplace starts at the first touchpoint — the candidate experience matters more than ever. Diversity doesn’t end at hiring — it’s about building cultures where people from all backgrounds can thrive. Representation opens doors, but inclusion keeps people in the room. Treat every candidate like a future colleague — because they might just be. The best talent won’t always follow a traditional path — be ready to see potential, not just paper. Hiring isn’t just about filling roles — it’s about shaping culture.

Its important to have a career plan, break it down into chunks e.g. next 12 months, 2-5 years then 5 years plus. Make the right people aware of this plan. After all how can the leadership team support you if they dont know your aspirations? Then its important to understand what skills are needed to make the next move. Breadth moves are very usefully as it expands your overall knowledge which ultimately helps with career development. With all this in mind its also important to be flexible and adaptable. Seek out advice from senior peers who would have probably been in a similar situation in the past.
