Director, Service Management
Projects always create challenges and many inter-dependencies with other parts of the programme or other projects. I have been on a major transformation before where we needed to change, People, Process and Technology all at the same time. This can be a recipe for disaster without proper planning. We had no choice, there was a burning platform and needed to change each area simultaneously going live all at the same time but there were some areas of concern on the customer side.
We needed to get through stabilisation of the new ways of working to work through the overall impact of what was causing dis-satisfaction with the customer. The issues actually raised to the customer that this was not all on the project side but there were changes that needed to happen within their own operation that impacted the process further down the line.
This change enabled me to focus on what it is to be a successful programme manager, dedication, perserverance, understanding, solution orientated and making a difference. Bringing out the issues so that they were transparent across all stakeholders and working through a change management plan to enable the changes to stick rather than reverse any of the change.
