Hi,
Thank you for your question.
Progressing to the next career level involves around 6-12 months. Speaking from experience, its your hard work and also conversations with your manager that will make you successful.
However you may not want to progress and continue as a merchandiser which is also another way you can perfect the role.
Hope this helps.

Grocery Merchandiser
Honestly, it depends on the open opportunities at the next level, maybe one to three years. However Grocery channel (Supermarkets) is a great apprenticeship, the longer you stay and learn in this role you are supported and gain a higher level of contacts, training, advice and achievements which are recognized by a higher level of management. The more you can learn in this sector the further your career can go...

Personally I have enjoyed the Merchandiser Role so much over the past three years, I have switched territory's to be closer to home with suitable hours and gained a pay rise for training others.

Hi Anon.
It really depends on you, how quickly you wish to progress. If you can demonstrate your doing really well in your merchandiser role, achieving your target, delivering results, then you can work on a next move plan with your line manager and potentially you can move fairly quick. Merchandisers have progressed to other part of the business within a year.
